So my Idea was to have two of the same miniatures face off against each other, one black and one white.

I quickly came to dislike painting black and white so didn't take this as far as originally planned.

I quite enjoyed making the base! I'm fed up with this now so am glad the whole shebang is over. Onto pastures greener :)

hehe i completely agree with the frustration of how 1 or 2 colors can make you give up. But it looks awesome! Good work :)

That's lovely but to me the focus is more on the tree - it's overpowering the scene. I think a small wall or bush would have worked better.

Very nice, but I wonder if the circular base is actually disrupting the balance of the scene. A rectangular base, or perhaps a rectangular walkway/bridge/ruin on top of the circular base would have contributed more effectively to the sense of a confrontation of equals.

Yeah I think you might be right there. Originally the plan was to create a Ying Yang symbol on the base with leaf scatter, using the two minis as the circle bits of the symbol.
      Hence the round base

The Yin Yang symbol is a great idea and would have looked fantastic. why didn't you go that route?

Mainly due to losing interest in the scene unfortunately.
This was also entered into the "Skirmish" comp in irregular magazine and once I'd rushed to semi-completion and taken the photos for that I completely lost motivation to do any more
